Writing and Editing Credits
Magazines
An editor of Reminsce magazine for eight and a half years, I
edited roughly fifteen feature stories per month and countless shorter
anecdotes sent in by readers. In 1999 I left Reiman Publications in
Milwaukee
for a beautiful little town overlooking the Mississippi River. Since
beginning
my freelance career, I've authored more than 30 nonfiction children's
books
on a wide variety of topics ranging from the history of skateboarding
to
Inca mummies to apartheid to Abu Ghraib to biographies of Dietrich
Bonhoeffer,
Chuck Yeager and the Wright brothers. I've written and edited books
from
every reading level from third grade to adults. I've sold articles to
kids'
magazines like Boys' Life and Wild Outdoor World, as
well
as contributed occasional pieces to respected popular historical
publications
such as American History, Timeline, Flight Journal
and The Compass.
